Dolaylı anlatımda zaman bir adım geri gider

Birinin sözünü aktarırken zamanlar geriye kayar: present → past, past → past perfect, will → would, can → could, must → had to.
“I am tired.” → He said he was tired.
“I will call you.” → She said she would call me.
Zamirler ve zaman ifadeleri de kayar: now → then, today → that day, tomorrow → the next day, yesterday → the day before.

say ve tell farkı

tell daima kime söylendiğini ister: He told me that…
say ise kişi almaz: He said that… Kime söylendiğini belirtecekseniz say to gerekir: He said to me… — He said me yanlıştır.

Dolaylı sorular: sıra düzelir

Soru aktarılırken soru sırası bozulur, düz cümle sırasına döner ve do / does / did kaybolur:
“Where do you live?” → He asked me where I lived. (where did I live ❌)
Evet/hayır sorularında if ya da whether kullanılır: She asked if I was ready.
